Visionary On Pointe
Envision Boston Optometry - one of Boston's leading institutions of quality eye care has launched their 2017 giving campaign. Featured in this week's Boston Globe and covered by the Boston Herald, the optometry studio collaborated with a collection of 'Boston Visionaries' to bring eye exams to Washington Irving Middle School.
In partnership with Mayor Marty Walsh's Education Cabinet, for each Boston Visionary photographed by Kerry Brett outside of an iconic Boston landmark, the company donates a day of service to Washington Irving Middle School students.
It is not everyday you get asked to be a part of such an amazing project. And to be called a 'visionary' at that! Alongside other unquestionable visionaries like Jamie Bisonnette, Joanne Chang, Ben Mezrich and Josh Zakim, it is both a huge honor and a thrill to stand stoic and 'on pointe' underneath the Bunker Hill Monument (albeit on a freezing afternoon in November!)
And what is my vision for Boston? We are on the brink of hitting it big. With the upsurge in interesting, unique and quality restaurants, Boston is contending with the best in the nation. With our art institutions working hard to push the boundaries in a diversity of ways and our audiences opening their eyes to new expressions, 'conservative Boston' is quickly becoming a thing of yesteryear.
Envision. Envision a future of color, love and collaboration. A future of artistry for the world to see. This is the Boston I see. This is the Boston I stand 'on pointe' for.
