New York is so many different things to so many different people. Each of my New York trips are as distinct one from the other as they can be; but I always end up with a collection of anecdotes to share - so many of which are food related.

Usually bunking up with friends, this time around, Max and I stayed at the Ace Hotel - arguably one of the hippest accommodations in the city. Located on 29th and Broadway, the Ace is far from your average hotel chain. Rooms range in size from a bunk room to a loft suite; but all guests get to tap into one of the most dynamic hotel settings in the country. With vintage design and a hotel lobby bar filled simultaneously with writers, DJ composers and sipping socialites, the Ace is pumping all day, all night.

And it's not even just about the scene. The food options are also top notch. Although my foodista escapades took me elsewhere, The Breslin and John Dory Oyster Bar make for incredible hotel food options. Not to mention, Stumptown roasters, catering to your every coffee desire, is located inside the hotel as well.

New York is so conducive to creating a walking itinerary of multiple bites and drinks. We started at Corkbuzz with wine and snacks. Then we headed to the Rose Bar at Gramercy Park Hotel. Maialino, a Danny Meyer restaurant, is another perfect addition to either follow or precede the Rose Bar. Interestingly, they practice the controversial 'no tipping', which always instigates passionate conversations :)

Probably the best part about staying at the Ace is the comfort of knowing you always have a unique and dynamic atmosphere to go back to. With them, 'heading in for the night' really means stepping aboard another adventure, complete with delicious cocktails...and a photo booth.

Throughout the rest of our trip, we hit up the Russian Turkish baths in the Lower East Side, rode bikes through Central Park to celebrate the first really nice day of the year and rewarded ourselves with shaved ice from the trending Snowdays.

Any time spent in New York is sure to be filled with delicious snacks, meals and treats, and every trip is sure to be different from the last. With all of this distinction, one thing about New York is universal: from the minute you arrive, the city scoops you up in its arms. By the time you step off the train, you know you’ve been privy to one of the world’s wildest concerts, food, people and all. Until next time New York:)
